OUR TOP TIPS ON

Caring for your furniture

At balè, we are passionate about delivering high quality handcrafted products that are made to last. a little love and attention from time to time, goes a long way.

CARING FOR

Teak

Our teak is all high grade, sustainably sourced teak.

Teak is easy to maintain and requires minimum care unless exposed to the elements for a period of time.

For indoors: Clean the teak from time to time with a cloth and distilled water. Do not use harsh chemicals.

For outdoors: When exposed to the elements over a period of time, teak willdevelop a silver grey patina. You can lightly sand the teak every year and apply awater based polyurethane if you want to keep them looking like new, otherwise itwill age beautifully and naturally.

Table Top:

Dust your table regularly with a soft cloth to prevent dust buildup. • Wipe up spills with a damp cloth to prevent stain & avoid excessive water to prevent warping. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners.• Protect your table from watermarks, heat and scratches by using coasters and placemats.• For any oil stains, sand it down lightly and apply water based polyurethane for the finish.

Solid Wood Disclaimer:Our solid wood furniture is made from natural wood with no veneer. Teak may exhibit variations in grain, color, and texture. These variations are inherent characteristics of natural wood and are not considered defects. In addition, solid wood may expand and contract in a new environment through changes in humidity and temperature, which may cause slight gaps and imperfections in the finish. These are also natural occurrences and not considered defects. Solid wood 2 inches or thicker may need to adjust to the humidity of its new home.

CARING FOR

Leather

All of our leather is full grain, which is more natural than genuine leather. We ask that you take some extra care with your new leather so that it stays in the family for years to come. It may look and seem tough as nails, but leather does require a bit of attention here and there. It can stretch, scar and scratch, but with a little tender love, keeping it tip-top, becomes second nature.

Try these tips:

Avoid direct sun, otherwise fading may occur.• Wipe down with clean cloth from time to time. We recommend you steer clear of wax, polish, soaps and oil leather.• For little spots and spills use a dampened, soft white cloth and let it air dry. The spot should naturally sink into the leather and fade away eventually• Minor scratches? Just rub them with your finger and give it time
